Children's care centres face closure
Council logo
The council has said it is not a cost-cutting exercise
Two centres which provide care for youngsters with disabilities in Lincolnshire could soon be closed.

The Beacon in Grantham and Strut House in Lincoln would be shut next year if the plans go ahead.

Instead there will be a new short-break centre and community care will be improved, said Lincolnshire County Council.

It said it wants to improve the way these services are provided and insisted the controversial plans are not a cost-cutting exercise.

There are currently four centres in Lincolnshire which offer care and support to youngsters with disabilities.

The proposals will be discussed at a meeting on Tuesday.
