| Wednesday, 4 September, 2002, 09:14 GMT 10:14 UK Battered cod off the menu ![]() Plentiful hoki has replaced the dwindling cod A hotel in Suffolk resort has taken cod off the menu in a gesture to help conserve dwindling stocks. Diners at The Crown in Southwold are being offered hoki - a New Zealand fish with a similar taste - instead. Peter Page, from Adnams, the brewery which owns the hotel, says it is an important step in the right direction.
