Police car
The raid is being treated as "aggravated burglary"
Police are hunting three armed robbers who raided Liverpool Football Club on Friday.

The masked men threatened staff after they were discovered looking for cash in an unattended office at the club.

Two members of the club's staff became suspicious when they saw someone walk past the development office inside the ground.

They said that when they confronted the raiders they were threatened with what were described by Merseyside Police as "implements".

Club staff were threatened
Nobody was injured during the incident, which police are treating as an aggravated burglary.

Detectives confirmed it was unclear how the pair got into the Anfield Road stadium.

The offenders, described as white, were all wearing black stockings over their heads.

They made off in a black Vauxhall Cavalier.

One of the men was fat. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt, blue jeans and trainers and spoke with a local accent.

The second also spoke with a Liverpool accent, and was about 5ft 6ins tall, of proportional build and wearing jeans. The third was 6ft 1ins tall and slim.

The Cavalier the gang made off in is believed to have been stolen and had registration J296 OFJ.
