The murder of a Nottingham teenager remains unsolved despite a high-profile search for his killers.

Six months ago 16-year-old Brendon Lawrence was gunned down in Watkin Street, in the city's St Ann's area.

Police investigations have centred on the occupants of a red Ford Fiesta XR2 which was seen driving from the murder scene.

But despite a poster campaign in Nottingham and a number of arrests, police are yet to charge anyone with the crime.

'Withholding information'

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said it was possible people knew information about the incident but were reluctant to come forward.

"If anyone is withholding information, we would encourage them to make contact.

"Any information we receive will be treated with the strictest of confidence.

"Because we made a number of arrests, there seems to be a perception that the case is over, but that is not the case. No-one has been charged."

The teenager was murdered on 19 February.

It is thought he had got out of a red Ford Fiesta XR2 shortly before he was shot.

The car was later found abandoned and burnt out.

Brendon died at Queen's Medical Centre at about 1900 GMT, shortly after he was shot.

The shooting was the first gun-related death since Nottinghamshire Police started a citywide anti-firearms crackdown.
