Surrey Police have identified several people captured on closed circuit television who may have walked past Amanda "Milly" Dowler minutes before she disappeared.

Detectives believe the 13-year-old was abducted outside Walton-on-Thames station on 21 March.

The revolving camera swept past an area detectives have pinpointed as outside Walton train station where Milly, as she is known, was probably abducted.

A police spokeswoman said: "We believe that we may have identified a female with blonde hair and have information that could lead to the identity of the person carrying the guitar - inquiries are under way to confirm these. "

Last week officers revealed that Milly may have been snatched in a 60-second abduction.

An eyewitness said they had seen Amanda walking along a road on her way home from school.

But she was not captured on CCTV shot nearby, leading detectives to suspect she may have been snatched somewhere inbetween.

Police are following up about 130 telephone calls received after the latest appeal for information.
