| Friday, 14 June, 2002, 12:48 GMT 13:48 UK Dane's bar schnapps into cup action The bar's owner came to England as a youngster A Danish bar owner in Manchester city centre is insisting there will be no divided loyalty when he opens for Saturday's match between England and Denmark. Fans at Mark Ruby's Kro Bar in Oxford Road, which is decked with Danish flags, will be offered free schnapps regardless of who scores. Mr Ruby was born in Esberg, Denmark's fifth largest town. He opened the Kro Bar and based it on bars in his homeland by offering a selection of Danish beers and food. Penalty promise The 32-year-old, who moved to England as a child, expects the atmosphere to be good-natured and a family occasion. Mr Ruby said: "We are expecting between 200 and 350 people watching the game on the big screen so if it goes to penalties I will be giving away plenty of schnapps. "At the moment we have one England flag flying and 20 Denmark flags. "There will be a mixture of fans from both teams. "I hope Denmark win but if England play as well as they did against Argentina then we will struggle." | See also: 11 Jun 02 | England Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
