Picture Gallery: Gladiators at the ready
The public is getting its first glimpse of a Roman amphitheatre in central London which was last uncovered 2,000 years ago.

The site was first discovered in 1988 in Guildhall Yard and its significance will be revealed on Tuesday at its official unveiling.

Here is a snapshot of the work involved to uncover London's "hidden treasure".
