Jackson thriller for Grecians
Michael Jackson
Jackson is a close friend of Uri Geller
Third Division Exeter City has confirmed the visit next month of pop megastar Michael Jackson - close friend of the club's newest shareholder.

The eccentric prince of pop plans to visit the St James' Park ground for a charity event on 14 June as the guest of Uri Geller.

Geller has just become the club's new co-chairman.

But the star behind record sales of 200 million albums will not actually be performing any of his hits.

'Special time'

Instead, he will make a short address during a charity event for children with Aids and an African charity.

Joint chairman of Exeter City, John Russell, said the star had agreed to the invitation with the words "Take it as done, I will be there".

"It's going to be a special time for us down at the football club and for the city itself," said Mr Russell.

Other celebrities who have agreed to appear include magician David Blaine, whose latest stunt involved spending nearly 35 hours standing on a tiny platform 80 foot above the streets of Manhattan.

Singer Patti Boulaye will also be appearing at the show.

A total of 10,00 tickets will go on sale on Wednesday 29 May.
