Police were attacked by fans after the game
Two men have appeared before magistrates in London charged with riot.

Graham Wilfort, 30, from Cheriton in Kent and Andrew Best, 22, from Penge, south-east London, were arrested following disturbances after the Millwall match against Birmingham City on 2 May.

Mr Best has been bailed to appear at the Old Bailey at a date to be fixed.

Mr Wilfort was remanded in custody by magistrates in Greenwich and will appear at the Old Bailey on 27 May.

Sixteen arrests have been made in connection with the violence outside the London club's New Den ground.

Up to 100 police officers were injured, together with several police horses, as trouble flared after the match.

Birmingham City won the match 1-0 with a last-minute goal.

After the disturbances the police said it was considering suing Millwall for the damage caused.
