Boy injured in drive-by shooting
Police tape
The boy was injured in the thigh
An 11-year-old boy has been injured after shots were fired at a group of youths from a passing car in Nottingham.

The boy was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in the city - his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The shooting happened just before 2200 BST on Thursday in the Meadows area of the city.

Police are appealing for any witnesses.

Thigh wound

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "A dark coloured car pulled up outside a house in Holgate and a shotgun was discharged towards a group of youths."

The boy was hit in the right thigh.

The attack happened just two days after another shooting in the city.

A man was injured in the back after two masked men burst into an office and fired two shots from a handgun.

Last autumn, Nottinghamshire Police put more armed patrols on the streets in an attempt to reduce gun crime.
