A massive search by Surrey Police has failed to find any trace of the 13-year-old, known as Milly, since she disappeared on 21 March on her way home from Walton-on-Thames train station. The diary is a "friendship book" kept by Amanda and her friend Hannah MacDonald. Surrey Police hope the pages will make Amanda or whoever may be holding her contact them or her family.
The notebook - which features a Winnie-the-Pooh motif on the cover - contains a number of pictures of Amanda and Hannah and various jottings of their time together. Page one reads: "Hannah and Milly met in 1999 and here are a few photos they have taken throughout the time they've been matey-poos! Enjoy!!!" Hannah says: "Milly is a really lovely person. "It was her idea to make the friendship book and it made me feel really special. "Milly is a loyal friend - she is one of a kind." Surrey Police have taken 350 statements and family members and friends have made several appeals but so far the youngster's disappearance remains a mystery. | See also: Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||
