| Sunday, 14 April, 2002, 16:07 GMT 17:07 UK Amanda search moves into fourth week ![]() Police have searched woodland near Amanda's home Police are expected to resume their hunt for missing teenager Amanda Dowler on Monday after searches on Sunday again drew a blank. Officers spent more than six hours combing an industrial estate within a few hundreds yards of the family home in Walton-on-Thames but no trace of the 13-year-old or her possessions were found. Amanda - known as Milly - went missing on her way home from school more than three weeks ago. On Sunday, a total of 45 officers combed the North Weylands industrial estate as her godmother Sarah Ford renewed appeals for help in finding the teenager.
Mrs Ford said: "Someone must know something, she can't have disappeared without trace. "It's the not knowing that's the worst thing. Her parents and sister Gemma can't stop thinking about her, going over it in their heads, and they can't sleep or move on." The internet is also being used to appeal for information. Several British websites - including BBC News Online - are showing visitors a pop-up window asking anyone with information about to pass it on to the police or a missing persons helpline. The link to the site is on the right hand side of this page. CCTV footage of Amanda in her school uniform on the day she went missing has already been released in the hope of jogging someone's memory. Surrey Police say they are keeping an open mind about whether the teenager was abducted or left of her own free will. Anyone with information is urged to call Surrey Police on 01372 471212 or the National Missing Persons confidential helpline on 0500 700700. | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||
