Police tape
Police are investigating the cause of the crash
Three people were killed and a fourth left critically ill after a taxi and car collided in Greater Manchester.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the incident on Bury Old Road, Prestwich, at about 0115 GMT on Sunday.

Passenger Arron Croft, 15, died when the Ford Sierra hit the private hire vehicle. The driver of the Ford, aged 18, is critically ill in hospital.

Taxi driver Khalid Ejaz, 44, from Oldham, and his passenger, 53-year-old Stella Shaw, from Prestwich, were also killed.

A man in his 50s travelling with Ms Shaw, thought to be her husband, received minor injuries.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "A private hire vehicle was struck by another motor car. Three people were killed. Three were injured, one critically."

The driver of the Sierra was taken to Hope Hospital, where he is in a critical condition, and the male passenger from the taxi is being treated at North Manchester General Hospital.
