A concentration camp survivior has said children as young as four should be taught about the Holocaust.

Kitty Hart-Moxon is a regular speaker at England's first Holocaust Memorial Centre at Laxton in Nottinghamshire.

Holocaust Studies are part of the national curriculum and hundreds of students visit the Bate Shalom centre every week.

The centre aims to ensure that genocide will never be forgotten - its message is 'he who does not learn from history is doomed to repeat it'.

But Mrs Hart-Moxon, who survived two years in Auschwitz, says she does not believe that lessons have been learned.

Mrs Hart-Moxon told the BBC's East Midlands Today programme: "People have learnt nothing, I mean when I say people haven't learned, children haven't learned.

"If you don't start in primary school it's too late to teach people when they're year nine, which we're teaching now. You've got to start with the little ones."
