 | | Wednesday, 7 November, 2001, 19:51 GMT 'Delivery' is too much for postman  The hospital treated mother, baby and husband A Derbyshire postman who fainted and knocked himself out when his girlfriend went into labour has ended up in hospital with a broken toe. Matthew Webster, 29, rushed into the bathroom when his partner of six years said her waters had broken. He fainted and banged his head on the bath, knocking himself out for several minutes and breaking his toe in the fall. Joanne Botham, 20, of Ashbourne, Derbyshire, resorted to throwing water over her partner in order to bring him round.
"I just couldn't believe it," she said. "I didn't know who to worry about, him or me." "He does feel a bit silly and he has certainly come in for some stick at work, it's the talk of the post office." "He was out for about three minutes, but it seemed like an eternity. "One minute he was stood in the doorway and the next he was on the floor." Nurses at the Derby City Hospital managed to strap Mr Webster's broken toe while his partner was beginning contractions.
