Sun Valley Foods, which supplies chickens to a range of supermarkets, is adding a new packing hall to its food-processing plant in Hereford. The new facility will allow the company to expand its business by supplying supermarkets such as Sainsbury's and Iceland with whole chickens and chicken portions for rotisserie and meat counters. The upgraded packing hall is said to have the latest technology for packing, weighing and grading of products. Sun Valley's managing director, Hugh Guill, said: "The food business is a constantly changing environment and it is important that we continually look at ways to meet our customers' ever evolving needs and product requirements. "This latest investment demonstrates our commitment to maintaining our position as one of the country's leading food processors." There will be no new jobs, but the company, which employs 1,800 people in Hereford, says the investment will consolidate its position as one of Hereford's biggest employers. | See also: Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||
