Boy electrocuted 'playing on trains'
Liverpool graphic
A teenager is being treated for serious burns after touching the overhead cable of a railway line on Merseyside.

Transport police believe he had been running across the top of some empty train carriages with two friends when the incident happened.

The 14-year-old is in a stable condition in Liverpool's Alder Hey children's hospital.

He had been playing at Speke sidings in Garston when he was electrocuted by coming into contact with the live wire on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were alerted to the incident at 16.20 BST, and paramedics found the boy him lying at the side of the line suffering from extensive burns and minor head injuries.

He was transferred to Alder Hey after being treated at Whiston hospital.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
