The body of Brenda Parry, who was in her 40s, was discovered by police after they were called to her home in the Allerton area of Liverpool. Her son Simon, 15, also needed hospital treatment after apparently being assaulted at the same address on Tuesday. Police in Liverpool have arrested a man in his 30s from nearby Toxteth in connection with the incident. Hospital treatment The semi-detached house in Greenhills Road was sealed off by police shortly before 2230 BST on Tuesday. Detective Chief Inspector Alan Cooper from Merseyside Police said: "At this stage we do not know whether Mrs Parry knew her attacker and we are still considering one possibility that this was a burglary gone wrong." Police officers are planning to interview Ms Parry's son at a later date He is described as being in a stable condition at Alder Hey Children's Hospital and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. David Dennison, headteacher of St Margaret's Church of England School where Simon attends said: "We were saddened this morning to hear the news of Mrs Parry's death. "Simon is a popular pupil at the school and teachers and friends will remember him and his family in their prayers at this difficult time. "Prayers have already been said this morning in his form."
