There is a separate page for every institution detailing key indicators, with graphs to show at a glance any trend in its performance over recent years.

Tables show how it ranks alongside others.

Because of the A-level grades furore, publication of the England secondary school and college tables was postponed.

The GCSE/GNVQ results - and the new Key Stage 3 data - were released on 23 January.

The A-levels are expected early in April.

Wales and Northern Ireland

In July 2001 the Welsh Assembly Education Minister, Jane Davidson, said performance tables were divisive, placed an unnecessary burden on schools, and would no longer be published.

Instead, as in Northern Ireland, in future schools in Wales will publish their own results in their prospectuses and governors' annual reports
