The government is being warned that thousands of potential students could find themselves at the job centre rather than the lecture theatre because of a funding cap on university places.
Wes Streeting, the President of the National Union of Students and Anthony McClaran, the Chief Executive of admissions service UCAS, say the demand for places is very high this year.
