These 2004 secondary school tables were republished in October 2005 to show new GCSE-level results. These reveal the proportion of pupils in each school who achieved the equivalent of five GCSEs at grades A* to C, including English and maths GCSEs.
This is the new benchmark being introduced by the government. The figures were obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.
You can compare them with the old benchmark, of five good GCSEs or equivalent in any subjects.

There is a page for each of more than 4,000 maintained and independent schools in the 150 local authority geographical areas, and tables comparing their exam performance. As well as GCSEs and equivalent vocational qualifications, results are also given for A/AS-levels, as first published in January.
The tables include a "value added" measure showing how much progress children made from their final primary school year in 1999 to their GCSEs and other exams in 2004. This is also the same as the information first published in January.
