| Wednesday, 16 August, 2000, 13:34 GMT 14:34 UK Man charged with escaping court ![]() Two men are charged with conspiracy to rob A 22-year-old man has appeared in court amid high security charged with escaping from lawful custody. Ricky Loveridge is alleged to have escaped from Slough Magistrates court in August after a masked gang entered the court and shots were fired. Loveridge, from Slough, was remanded into custody for four weeks by Milton Keynes magistrates. He spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth and no application was made for bail. He also faces a charge of conspiracy to burgle and rob. Appearing with Loveridge was Terry Downes, who is charged with conspiracy to burgle between 2 February and 22 July. He applied for bail, but was also remanded into custody. Shots fired Balaclava-clad men with a sawn-off shotgun and handgun rushed into the magistrates' court at Slough, Berkshire, on 2 August. Shots were fired into the ceiling before the men fled with two of the three defendants in the dock. Police are continuing to hunt an escaped prisoner they named as Richard Hurley, 19, of Feltham, west London, who had been held on remand at Reading prison charged with burglary. They are also still seeking the armed gang. |
