Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has been one of the first UK travellers to arrive home, after Transport Secretary Lord Adonis announced the lifting of flight restrictions.

The designer had been stranded in Mauritius for five days with his wife and two children after a two-week holiday.

His British Airways flight was already in the air above Heathrow airport, when it was announced the risk from the ash cloud had been reassessed, allowing planes to land.

He said the experience had been a sometimes worrying adventure.
