Ferry companies in Dover have been experiencing a huge rise in passengers numbers as people stranded by the grounding of aircraft try to make fresh travel plans.
Restrictions on UK airspace will stay in place until at least 1300 BST on Friday because of ash from a volcano in Iceland.
