UK supplies ship to join Haiti quake relief effort

A Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship carrying aid supplies is to be sent to Haiti to help with the relief effort following last week's devastating earthquake.

RFA Largs Bay is due to leave for Haiti before the end of the month and remain there for several weeks to help the United Nations ferry supplies.

The government has pledged £20m to the relief operation in Haiti.
