Rifleman Dan Parrack is serving in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan with other British troops, he spoke to his mother Lisa Mitton from her home in High Wycombe on Christmas morning.
For many soldiers in Afghanistan, Christmas Day will see them carrying out their usual front-line patrols.
Those in the main bases will be eating Christmas dinner flown in from the UK.
