One of Tony Blair's key advisers says the former Prime Minister did tell George Bush Britain would not take part in military action unless the United Nations route was used.
Sir David Manning, who was Mr Blair's foreign policy adviser, was giving evidence on the fifth day of the enquiry.
He also said Tony Blair first asked for options for UK involvement in military action against Iraq in June 2002,
Nicholas Witchell reports.
