Floods hit Cumbria and Yorkshire Dales

Torrential downpours in parts of Northern England and Scotland are expected over the next 36 hours.

The Environment Agency has already put in place over 30 flood warnings across the UK.

Heavy rainfall has already affected parts of Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales.

Elliot Robertson, Head of Inland Flooding at the Environment Agency says intense and persistent rainfall is expected parts north-west England.
