Royal Mail to hire 30,000 temps

The Royal Mail has said it is recruiting as many as 30,000 temporary staff to help it cope with a national postal strike.

Unions have accused company bosses of provocation and say they are "planning for failure" in attempts to avert industrial action.

National walkouts are due to be held on Thursday and Friday.
