Business Secretary Lord Mandelson has insisted he is not in charge of the country in Gordon Brown's absence.
Lord Mandelson is standing in for the Prime Minister, who is about to go on holiday to the Lake District, until Sunday.
But he said it was "absolute nonsense" to say he was in charge, adding Mr Brown "is in charge of the country and has been throughout".
