Social workers 'struggling to cope'

Social workers are struggling to cope with staff shortages, financial pressures and high caseloads, according to the social work taskforce.

The group - set up to improve the service in the wake of the scandal over the death of Baby P - also said support for frontline staff was "inconsistent".
