Alan Johnson says UK 'prepared'

Health Secretary Alan Johnson has said the UK is well prepared for any possible outbreak of swine flu.

In a statement to the House of Commons, he said preparations for a flu pandemic had been under way for five years.

He also said health checks at entry points to the UK had been increased, "so passengers arriving in the UK with symptoms of illness are identified and assessed".
