Child protection facing criticism

A key report commissioned by the Government is expected to reveal that too many children are being abused, because social work departments in England are failing to protect them.

Lord Laming's report, which was commissioned in the wake of the death of Baby P in Haringey, will recommend how best to improve child protection across England.
