On the 25th anniversary of the year-long miners' strike, one Derbyshire miner has been remembering the hard decisions the industrial unrest forced him to make.
Steve Whyles told 5 Live's Bob Walker why he felt forced to break the strike and return six months into the dispute, even although his father remained on strike.
He said the worst lasting effect of the industrial action was the damage done to family relations.
