Brendan Cole and Camilla Dallerup finished a dismal 15th |
The UK finished a disappointing second from last in the first Eurovision Dance Contest - won by Finland. Brendan Cole and Camilla Dallerup, regulars on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing, won just 18 points, finishing a place ahead of Switzerland.
Finland won the contest after viewers from 16 participating nations across Europe awarded them 132 points.
The show took place in London at the BBC's Television Centre and was carried by 24 international broadcasters.
Cole and Dallerup, who were a couple for nine years, first danced a set routine to the Barbra Streisand song The Way We Were.
'Fantastic event'
Their second dance, to a James Bond medley, was created specifically for the night.
They couple said it had been a fantastic event and they were honoured to have taken part.
Cole was born in New Zealand and Dallerup in Denmark but both now live in the UK.
Jussi Vaananen and Katja Koukkula, representing Finland, danced the first routine to Streisand's All In Love Is Fair.
For their second dance, they performed a Paso Doble.
Ukraine, represented by Ilyia Sydorenko and Julia Okropiridze, came second with 121 points and Ireland took third place when Mick Donegan and Nicola Byrne gained 95 points.
The ceremony was hosted by Graham Norton and Claudia Winkleman.
