The TUC fears some Polish workers could be exploited by UK employers
Thousands of Polish workers are being encouraged to join a trade union before they come to work in the UK.

A delegation of TUC leaders will attend a jobs fair in Warsaw where they will distribute leaflets in Polish.

The TUC said it was important for migrants to understand UK laws to avoid being exploited by employers.

There will be up to 30 British employers at the fair. Those who attend will be told they can come to the UK to work but not simply to claim benefits.

Jobcentre Plus will be on hand to advise people of their legal duty to pay income tax.

There are around 600,000 vacancies in the UK, according to official figures.
