Beatrice, who turns 17 on Monday, appears on the cover of the September issue of Tatler magazine.

She said she and her sister Eugenie have the best of two different worlds after their parents' divorce in 1996.

"I wouldn't trade my life for anyone else's," she said. "I love being who I am and feel very happy with that."

'Quite normal'

She added: "A lot of it is quite normal, scooting around the supermarket with a shopping trolley and things like that. With one parent being a prince and the other being an amazing sort of..."

"Commoner?" her mother interrupted.

"Amazing sort of business woman is what I was going to say," Beatrice said.

The teenage princess described her grandmother the Queen as "the most amazing woman anyone could ever meet" whom she "loved to bits".

She described her father as "very kind and thoughtful", and said the family was even closer since the divorce.

The princess, who is fifth in line to the throne, said she did not see herself as a "stereotypical princess, so people often expect one thing when they first meet me and I give them another".

She said she looked for "trust" in a man, and said her favourite TV programmes included Desperate Housewives and The OC.

Meanwhile, a waxwork of Prince William has gone on show at Madame Tussauds in London.

The model of the 23-year-old is expected to become even popular than the model of pop star Robbie Williams with female visitors.

The smiling William waxwork is dressed in a black lounge suit, blue shirt and red tie, with his hands in his pockets.

The waxwork features a full head of hair, though Madame Tussauds said "we may have to review that in a few years."
