The Foreign Office has formally identified the body of a Cornish victim of the Asian tsunami.

David Page, 44, from St Ives, died on the Thai island of Phuket, when the giant waves hit the resort on Boxing Day last year.

His fiancee, Sharon Howard, 37, survived, but her two sons, Taylor, six, and eight-year-old Mason, were also killed.

The Foreign Office says it will not discuss details of the repatriation.

The Mayor of St Ives, Harry Isaacs, has sent emails to the Foreign Office asking them to speed up the identification process.

He says he hopes the news about Mr Page is of comfort to Ms Howard who had complained about the bureaucracy involved in getting Taylor's body home.
