Rose West was convicted of 10 murders in 1995 |
Serial killer Rosemary West was moved temporarily from Durham Prison to a Buckinghamshire jail to enable family members to visit, it has emerged. West, who is serving 10 life sentences for killing young women and girls, spent several days in Woodhill Prison.
The Home Office said it was normal for inmates whose relatives lived far from the prison to get prolonged access instead of weekly visits.
West and her husband Fred killed an unknown number of women over 20 years.
They buried many of their victims, who had been abducted, tortured and raped, under their home at 25 Cromwell Street, Gloucester.
Fred West committed suicide while he was waiting to face charges of murdering 12 people, including his first wife and eldest daughter.
Rose West was convicted at Winchester Crown Court in November 1995.
