Secretary 'harassed by FA chief'
Former Football Association secretary Faria Alam
Ms Alam resigned after newspapers reported the affairs
The secretary who had an affair with England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has told an employment tribunal FA chief David Davies sexually harassed her.

Faria Alam resigned from her job last August after her affairs with the England manager and FA chief executive Mark Palios became public.

She is claiming unfair dismissal, sexual discrimination, breach of contract and unequal pay.

Mr Davies denied the allegations and said he hoped to give evidence soon.

Ms Alam also told the hearing that Mr Eriksson had asked her to lie.

The 39-year-old said: "Mr Eriksson instructed to me that if questioned by the FA, I should deny that I was having any relationship with him. He would do the same.

"I did not want to do anything which might get Mr Eriksson into trouble."

The former secretary said she had been told Mr Davies had "a bit of a reputation", with colleagues Kim Foster and Sarah Ford indicating he had "tried it on" with them.

"He made unwanted physical overtures to me. At his flat on one occasion in 2003, he tried to hold me close and kiss me while I left.

"On several occasions when we were alone in the lift together, he would try and kiss me on the lips. I would rebuff him."

She added: "He advised me that his life was better with me in it and that we should run away together or that he wanted to lock me up and throw away the key.

"I found these comments and his conduct embarrassing and I did nothing to encourage it.

"I indicated his physical attentions were unwelcome by pushing him away or by moving out of range. I mentioned to several people at the FA that I found his attentions unwelcome."

'Deeply hurtful'

In an unusual move Mr Davies has issued a statement of denial and says he will not comment further until he appears to give evidence at the tribunal.

The FA also said it would be denying the allegations when officials came to give evidence.

Ms Alam is thought to be seeking about 30,000 in compensation.

She told the tribunal that a notepad containing claims of harassment had gone missing from her desk and that FA employees had attempted to access her e-mail account.

The revelations last year about the affairs led to the resignations of Mr Palios and FA communications director Colin Gibson.

It is claimed Mr Gibson offered to give the News of the World extensive details of Ms Alam's affair with Mr Eriksson if the paper would agree to leave Mr Palios out of the story.
