The Queen's voice has been affected |
The Queen has cancelled three engagements after catching a cold, Buckingham Palace has said. A visit to the Sandhurst military academy to see Prince Harry and other cadets on parade was one of the events which were cancelled.
The Queen, 79, has also had to cancel a reception for the Centenary of the Friends of the Elderly and an audience with the president of Singapore.
A Palace spokeswoman said: "It's no more than a bad cold."
The Queen's spokeswoman added: "She had a sore throat and didn't attend a private engagement at a polo match over the weekend.
"The sore throat is now a cold - and to help her recover, she is not attending these particular engagements.
"The cold has affected her voice. She didn't want to pass on her cold to those she was meeting."
