Guinness Publishers said that if all the 2.7 million copies of the millennium edition of the book were laid end to end they would reach from Barcelona to London. The first copies of the book will leave the printers this week for 22 different destinations as far afield as Australia, South America and the Middle East. The book, now in its 46th edition, is printed in 20 different languages and sold in 37 countries around the world. Originally designed for pub landlords, the book first appeared in 1955.
