Dockers at one of the UK's major ports have voted to strike over pay and conditions. More than 80% of Transport and General Workers Union members at the port of Felixstowe in Suffolk supported industrial action in protest at planned changes to their conditions of employment.
A union official said the proposed changes would mean dock workers there would be among the lowest paid in the industry.
Union and port officials are now in talks with the conciliation service Acas to try to avert a stoppage.
The container port of Felixstowe is one of the largest in Europe.
