The BBC's Christine Jardine: Many thought the match should not have taken place
At least one man was stabbed during violence in the streets near the Celtic Park ground.

Celtic officials later said the supporters who disrupted the game and threw objects at the referee will be banned for life.

A number of fans invaded the pitch, and television pictures beamed around the world showed referee Hugh Dallas with blood seeping down his forehead.

He needed treatment from paramedics before continuing with the match, and a steward was also targeted with an object thrown from the crowd.

Celtic spokesman Peter McLean said: "Four fans entered the field of play and as well as facing criminal charges they will be banned from Celtic Park for life."

Cars at standstill

He added: "Other incidents will be the subject of an inquiry by the club, using close circuit TV. The club very much regrets the events of this evening."

Hundreds of supporters celebrated their club's success around Ibrox Park. Cars were brought to a standstill and police advised drivers to avoid the area.
