Seb Clover will leave his 32 ft yacht, Reflection, behind as he heads for home on Wednesday after the end of his long adventure.

The 15-year-old sailed into the record books last Sunday as the youngest person ever to sail the Atlantic single handed.

He is not old enough to drive but the schoolboy managed to steer his boat almost three thousand miles from Tenerife to Antigua.

Father welcomes son

He appeared unfazed by all the fuss when he finally reached dry land. Apart from struggling with some broken rigging, he said the worst moments were running out of chocolate and a general lack of sleep.

The Atlantic is a lonely place for a teenage boy.

On Christmas Day he cheered himself up by putting tinsel around his small cabin.

And throughout his journey, he managed to keep himself entertained by listening to Eminem and even baking some bread in an oven. He also admitted to nibbling raw jelly and eating pasta for breakfast.

Seb also spoke of his fear and excitement at seeing killer whales, bigger than the size of his boat, for part of his journey.

He was ready to abandon ship had the mammals punctured a hole in his yacht.

When he docked in the appropriately named English Harbour, a host of local dignitaries and journalists were there to greet him.

He said he was "overwhelmed" at his reception.

After a hot shower and a short nap, Seb then, much to his embarrassment, found himself signing a few autographs for some young schoolgirls. He will have to get used to being the centre of attention - for a short while at least.

His Dad Ian, who also crossed the Atlantic in a race with his son, now plans to make a documentary of their journey.

There is plenty of footage. Both Ian and Seb recorded their own video diaries. Seb said he found it quite comforting talking into a camera on his 25 day trip.

But for Seb, his adventure is now at an end. He has to go back to school next week and admits it might be a bit "dull" compared with his remarkable voyage.

As for his next trip? The schoolboy already has his eyes on a round the world trip, but not before he does his GCSEs.
