Carlsberg-Tetley Brewing Ltd said there was a slight risk particles of glass could be dislodged from the neck of the 275ml bottles. The danger applies only to Carlsberg bottles sold in eight packs from Iceland Stores and Somerfield Stores since 1 September. Carlsberg-Tetley chief executive Colin Povey said: "The safety of our consumers is of paramount importance and whilst this particular pack configuration accounts for only a tiny fraction of our bottled lager sales we are dedicated to maintaining the very highest quality standards." The bottles affected have a best before date of 30 May 2002. Other Carlsberg products, sold in cans, kegs or bottles, are not affected. Customers should either return the affected products to the stores where they were bought for a full refund or phone the helpline printed on the bottle labels. | Top UK stories now: Links to more UK stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||
