| Tuesday, 4 September, 2001, 08:02 GMT 09:02 UK CCTV footage could capture rapist ![]() The woman was attacked after leaving a nightclub Police have released video footage of a man they want to interview in connection with the violent rape of a woman in Nottinghamshire. The 39-year-old woman was attacked following a night out at the Lexus nightclub in Clumber Street, Mansfield in the early hours of Saturday morning. She left the nightclub with a man at about 0230 BST who led her down Clumber Street and Leeming Street before attacking her at the junction of Rock Valley and Bath Lane. He then hit her in the face and stole her handbag before leaving her semi-naked and distressed in the street. Violent attack Inspector Sam Wilson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was a very violent attack and the woman was seriously hurt. "She was treated in hospital for cuts and bruises but the emotional damage was much worse. "We desperately need to trace this man." The attacker is described as being in his mid 20s, of medium build, with short, dark-coloured hair and was wearing a light coloured shirt.
