The service will take place at St Andrew's Church

A member of the Royal Family is expected to attend the funeral and there will also be an RAF fly-past.

Ms Campbell told BBC News Online she had already finalised some of the details of the service.

"When I was a child the house reverberated to the sounds of Nat King Cole - and a 30-voice male choir are going to sing 'Unforgettable'."

"I have a union flag to place over a blue coffin which I have found... all I am praying for is the weather."

'Celebrate life'

Mr Campbell crashed during the record attempt on 4 January 1967.

His body was recovered from the lake in May this year.

His boat, Bluebird K7, was raised last year.

Mr Campbell's remains will be buried 200 yards from St Andrew's Church.

The service will be conducted by the vicar of Coniston, the Reverend Mark East.

He will never die in peoples' thoughts and imagination.

Mr East said: "It will be a combination of a funeral and memorial service... to celebrate his life.

"Quite a lot of the service will be reflecting on what happened at his memorial service.

"The same hymns will be sung and a member of the K7 club will be doing one of the readings."

The memorial service took place on 23 February 1967 at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church near Trafalgar Square in London.

Worldwide attention

Ms Campbell, who was a teenager at the time, said: "I can't really remember it well, but it was very overwhelming.

"This service is a finalisation, but somehow my father never leaves an ending to anything... he will never die in peoples' thoughts and imagination."

Up to 3,000 people are expected to attend the funeral, which will be broadcast outside the church using a video and audio link. The church itself seats just 200.

The event is expected to attract worldwide media attention.
