Picture gallery: Prince's naval career
Prince Andrew has left the navy after more than two decades of service.

Starting out as a fresh 19-year-old recruit in 1979, the prince went on to qualify as a helicopter pilot and served in the Falklands War.

He spent his last few years as the commander responsible for international relations for the Royal Navy.
