Billy Kelly: Threatened council staff

Kelly is already serving a six-month detention order for threatening to fire bomb a witness the day of the eviction in November.

The city council provided a list of incidents to the court which showed Kelly had been involved in a string of offences from October 1998 to December last year.

These included burglary, shoplifting, threatening behaviour, stealing a charity box and making a death threat to a neighbour as part of a gang.

He had also been involved in taking cars and making another petrol bomb threat a year before the family's eviction, the court was told.

'Menace'

Magistrates heard how during the eviction Kelly had threatened a policeman and vowed to get his revenge on the local community.

The court was told he said: "I'm going to come back and terrorise Fallowfield. You think you have won, but I'm going to come back and terrorise this place."

The exclusion order, which lasts until April 20, 2011, includes a ban on approaching, threatening or communicating with witnesses.

Kelly had asked to be allowed to enter the exclusion zone to visit his father, but was told this would not be allowed.

Councillor Basil Curley, the council's executive member for housing, said Kelly had been a "menace" to the entire community.

"Billy Kelly was a menace to his neighbours and the court found his behaviour so serious that a long ban was the only answer."
